Poinsot's Gyroscope - Geometric Physics Art Canvas Print
Canvas print created from the scan of an original drawing (created 2025 on A5-sized watercolor paper).
The sides of the thick canvas frame show the artwork mirrored and distorted. The canvas is stretched over a 1.25inch (3cm) thick wooden frame, ready to hang (hanging hardware included).
Available in three sizes - see the images showing the prints on a white brick wall to assess the size! The original artwork size has been 5.8" x 8.3" - so smaller than the smaller print!

Traditional orthographic projection construction of the cones in Poinsot's geometric theory of the gyroscope. The yellow cone rolls along the surface of the blue one, and its axis traces out the surface of the green cone.

The distortion effects on the canvas sides have been added manually with a digital pen.
