A Visualization of Diffraction Curves

... is wrapped around mugs in a mathematically exact way!

Stargate of Diffraction - Physics Art Coffee Mugs

These coffee mugs are printed with diffraction curves - the intensity of diffracted light over angle, for different colors in the spectrum of visible light. The design is rolled up and printed on the cylindrical surface of the mug so that the angle is exactly represented by the position on the mug's surface. The design is duplicated on right and left half of the mug - as if white light would shine from opposite directions onto a grating in the center.

Two different artworks on a single coffee mug!

Oscilloscopic Dance - Lissajous Figures Mathematical Art Mugs

Doesn't everybody love Lissajous figures - built from harmonic oscillations? On this mug, you can see a set of such curves in three dimensions, envisaged as metallic tubes! Each mug shows two different Lissajous Figures artworks!

Geometrical Art - Vintage-Style

Each mug is printed with a different combination of two distinct drawings!

Poinsot's Paper Spaceship - Physics of the Gyroscope Mugs

Louis Poinsot developed a geometric theory of the motionĀ  of a spinning top, involving Intersecting ellipsoids and spheres. See them turned into stained-glass-like traditional geometric drawings! Pastel-colored drawings turn white ceramic mugs into a classic vintage coffee set:
